Sensory Bird Walk @ Caven Point

Hosted by Feminist Bird Club – Jersey City

πŸ“… Saturday, October 31, 2026

⏰ 9:30 AM

πŸ“ Caven Point, Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ
Meet at Lot 1, Camp Liberty parking lot.

Join Feminist Bird Club – Jersey City for an interactive sensory bird walk at Caven Point, exploring how humans and birds perceive the world around them.

Led by evolutionary biologist Dr. Jarome Ali, who specializes in animal coloration, particularly in birds and primates, this guided walk will focus on the fascinating differences and similarities between human and avian senses.

With Caven Point open to the public again, October is a wonderful time to explore its lush coastal habitat before the changing seasons.

Open to birders of all experience levels. The walk is just under 2 miles round-trip on mostly flat, paved paths, with some uneven gravel and sandy beach sections. Binoculars will be available to borrow.

Parking: Available at Camp Liberty Lot 1.

Restrooms: The nearest restroom is approximately half a mile away at Liberty State Park Picnic Site #1.
