Nature Walk and Craft: Beach
Come to Liberty State Park for a two-in-one beach walk and scavenger hunt! Afterwards, you can make a beach craft to take home with you!
Nature Walk on the Secaucus Greenway
Join Sierra Club NJ on a leisurely stroll through the Meadowlands, with the Hackensack River to the west and the marshland to the east! There are two sections along this 2-mile trail, but anyone can turn around halfway if needed.
Nature Walk & Craft: Insects
Interested in insects? There’s so much to know about the natural world of insects that some of us don’t even notice! Join the NJDEP on a walk to look for some common garden insects and then make an insect craft to take home with you!
Mill Creek Marsh Photography
Join Montclair Bird Club on a marsh photography venture at Mill Creek Marsh! Photographers and non-photographers alike are all welcome! Rain day: June 29th.
Eastern Trails at Waywayanda State Park
Walk with Montclair Bird Club at Waywayande State Park, a massive parcel of public land that includes the 2,617-acre Wawayanda Swamp! Have fun exploring their trails as you go along a 4.5-mile route. If you would like to leave earlier, you’re welcome to as well.
Mill Creek Marsh Hike
Join Montclair Bird Club on a marsh photography venture at Mill Creek Marsh! The rain day is June 29th.
Essex Co. National Outdoors Day
Join Sierra Club and Essex County Parks in a 45-minute guided walk with a naturalist to celebrate National Outdoors Day! Registration is required.
Horseshoe Crab Walk
Horseshoe crabs are starting to lay eggs again, so join the NJ DEP and learn about the important roles they play in the natural world!
Halifax Road Birding
Have fun with Montclair Bird Club as you explore Halifax Road, a birding hotspot in Bergen County! Take a leisurely hike around the Ramapo River and witness countless species of birds.
Horseshoe Crab Walk
Join Liberty State Park on a walk to learn all about the incredible horseshoe crabs, right as they come ashore to lay their eggs!
